  2. When calculating the total number of tiles required you 
  3. normally work in whole tiles i.e. any half tiles you use 
  4. count as whole tiles.

  15. Step 1 - Measure the area in whole tiles
  16. Make a tile gauge by marking the width of the tiles, including 
  17. the grouting gaps, on a piece of wood. Use the gauge to calculate 
  18. the width in 'whole tiles'. Repeat this process to calculate the 
  19. height in whole tiles.

  21. Step 2 - Calculate the number of tiles needed
  22. With these two figures you can calculate the number of tiles you 
  23. will need. Allow 10-15 % for wastage.
